Mures Information
There is not much data about the origin and history of Mures, only some legends and events well known by people from the town. There are some archaeological findings, such as pots, pieces of pottery or arrowheads that, over the years, some neighbours have found and collected. These remains indicate to the Roman origins of the town.
Time went by and due to its location, the town was on the border of the Nazarí Kingdom of Granada, and here took place many battles between Arabs and Christians.
Fiestas
SAN JOSÉ (March 19th): People meet to celebrate the festivity of the Patron of Mures having lunch together in the countryside and enjoying the day with family and friends. In the evening, there is a procession of the Saint.
SAN ROQUE (August): The main festivity of the town. It is celebrated on the 16th, 17th and 18th of August. During these days there are lots of cultural, sporting and religious events.
